Studies
Linen sheets originate from ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, where humans first domesticated the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum) and wove its fibers into textiles more than 5,000+ years ago. The first introduction of linen to what is today known as Europe took place around 3000 BC. During 800 AD kings demanded linen to be in every household across the EU. Linen received the name “batiste” but was even called “fabric of kings”.
Our 100% European linen sheets are designed by Cultivate Elevate to provide the best sleep the body needs. Linen has been shown to help relax the body, assist with restlessness, and keep the body cool while sleeping.
Fun fact: During the 1900's hospitals utilized linen sheets in order to speed up patient healing, but during the 1960s Dupont plastic polyester sheets took the place of linen. Our linen sheets are un-dyed, chemical free, and woven to 220GSM.
